We begin with you.

Every project starts with understanding—not imposing a predetermined look. We listen for the way you live, what you are drawn to, what isn't working, and what you need your home to do better.
From there, we shape those insights into a cohesive design direction—balancing function, comfort, proportion, materials and character while keeping the decisions grounded in the people the space is meant to serve.
The goal isn't to leave our signature on your home. It's to help your home feel unmistakably yours.

I'm Kathleen Tucker, the designer behind KAT Studios.

I believe good design begins long before selections are made. It begins with listening—understanding how a client lives, what they value, what isn't working in their space, and what they want to feel when they walk through the door.

My role is to take those individual pieces and bring them into focus—developing a cohesive design, solving the practical problems within the space, and guiding the decisions required to carry that vision through.

I approach each project with the responsibility of caring for my client's best interests. That means offering thoughtful direction, being honest when a choice may work against the design or function of the space, and never allowing a shortcut to become the reason the finished work falls short.

For me, design isn't about creating a version of my home in yours. It's about helping you recognize yourself in the home we create together.

Great design isn't only seen.
It is felt.

A successful space should do more than look beautiful. It should function naturally, feel considered, and support the life unfolding within it.
